– 3 Takeaways to Empower Kids with ADHD –

  1. Help your child with ADHD see their strengths. Children with ADHD are probably used to getting a lot of negative feedback about their behaviors, but it’s important to help them understand that many of their greatest gifts come from the unique way that their brain works.
  2. Help your child with ADHD find a matched environment to set them up for success. This may play into the decisions you make for their schooling, as well as the communication you have with their teachers about their needs. It’s important to recognize when they’ve been in a mismatched environment for a long time, so you can help them recalibrate and lean back into their strengths.
  3.  Help your child with ADHD have vision for the future by sharing success stories. Is there a famous person in their field of interest that has ADHD? Do some Googling and find out. It’s important that they (and we are their parents) recognize that this diagnosis does not have to limit their potential throughout their life but can actually be a springboard for harnessing their unique gifts.
