It's back-to-school season, so I'm coming to you with a special series of episodes to celebrate.
Our kids will be taking all sorts of assessments in the coming weeks to find out how they're doing with their academic skills. And while we as moms don't need to brush up on math or reading (I mean, maybe we do, but no one can force us to anymore) we definitely need to brush up on our emotional wellbeing and making sure that we're doing everything in our power to thrive as mothers and human beings in this busy season.
So that's why I'm doing the series. Each episode will bring you a brief summary of one of my six principles for self-assured motherhood and give you a way to assess how you're doing in this area.If you want to get access to the entire self-assessment that's a complement to this podcast series, go to 3in30podcast.com/quiz.
IN THIS EPISODE, YOU'LL HEAR:
- The Olympic gymnast who competed in exactly one event, and why his coaches wanted it that way
- A question about baseball from a Harvard Business Review article that I share with every woman in my Self-Assured Motherhood program
- The answer one of my kids gave in the car one summer that made me so grateful I had leaned into my strength that day instead of apologizing for everything I'm not
I want to end twith a quote by Dr. Martin Seligman who's known as the father of positive psychology. He has said this: "to be truly happy, one must be aware of their most fundamental strengths and use them in daily life."
If you're not quite there yet, I hope you will join us in my Self-Assured Motherhood Program. We spend an entire month talking about strengths and I will help you learn how to identify your unique gifts and weave them into your everyday life.
Enrollment for the program will open September 14, and if you take our interactive self-assessment quiz at 3in30podcast.com/quiz, you'll be automatically added to the program's info list so you get a special discount as soon as the doors open for enrollment.
