497: Sanctify Your Soul Care // The Back-to-School Check-In for Moms #4

Hi, my friend. It's back to school season here in the United States, and as our kids are heading back to school, they're taking lots of assessments to see how they're doing in reading and writing and math, and I do not envy them.

And while we as moms don't need to assess how we're doing in those academic areas, we do need to take stock of how we're doing in some vital emotional areas so we can show up as the people and the mothers that we want to be after a long summer. And that's why I'm airing a special podcast series right now.

I want us to talk about how to care for ourselves in a way that will help us to be more joyful, peaceful, and intentional moms, and we're gonna do that by diving deep into each of my six principles of Self-Assured Motherhood(opens in new tab), one per mini episode.

Last week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, we talked about the first three principles in the SAM 6 framework: Voice your Values, Celebrate your Strengths, and Balance your Boundaries. And if you missed any of those episodes, you can obviously go back and listen to get caught up. Then this week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, we'll be talking about the last three principles in the SAM 6 framework, starting with today's topic, Sanctify your Soul-Care.

IN THIS EPISODE, YOU'LL HEAR:

  • The story of 33 men trapped underground for 69 days, and the warning the mountain had been giving for months before anyone stopped to listen
  • A question one of my SAM students asks about childcare that will change the way the phrase "self-care" sounds to you
  • The green, yellow, red assessment for this principle, and the color I had to give myself

I hope you'll join us in my Self-Assured Motherhood Program because women at the end of my program are often delighted to report to me how feel so confident setting boundaries. And that's because I've taught them how to verbalize boundaries in a loving way that actually strengthens relationships.

If you want to dive deeper, be sure to take my free online assessment at 3in30podcast.com/quiz where you can see how you are personally doing in each of the six areas of Self-Assured Motherhood.
