I’ve had to learn the hard way that showing up as I’ve had to learn the hard way that showing up as the mom I want to be doesn’t happen in the moment, when I’m already frustrated and running on empty. It happens way before that, in knowing myself well enough to notice what’s coming and to know what I’m willing to let go of.

That’s not something I was born knowing how to do, and it’s not a personality trait. It’s a skill, and it’s one anybody can learn.

I’m teaching a free class on the one tool that made the biggest difference for me:

How to Show Up More Like the Mom You Want to Be Every Day (Give or Take a Few!)
Tuesday, Sept 15, or Friday, Sept 18 at 10:30am Mountain

When you don’t know what you actually value, it’s When you don’t know what you actually value, it’s harder to find joy in your days, and it’s harder to show up as the mom you want to be. And then you wonder why you feel so far from the mom you imagined you’d always be.

I’m teaching a free class about closing that gap a little more often. I’ll walk you through a simple exercise to uncover your governing values, the three to five principles that are already an innate part of who you are. Not the values you think you should have, the ones you actually do. And then I’ll show you how to use them in the triggered moments, in the guilt, and in the decisions that never feel quite settled.

One tool. One hour. This class is more about you than your kids, but what you learn will change how you show up for them. Here are all the details 👇

I tell the waffle story a lot, and it always gets I tell the waffle story a lot, and it always gets a laugh...but the part I don’t tell as often is what came before it.

Because I didn’t wake up that morning as a mom who throws breakfast food across the kitchen. I got there slowly, over weeks of saying yes to things I didn’t have room for, of pushing past my own signals, and of telling myself I’d rest once things calmed down. (They never calmed down.)

So by the time my son got sassy over a waffle, there was nothing left in me to meet him with.

What I actually needed was to understand why a sassy kid and a waffle had that much power over me that morning. Knowing what matters most to me sounds like a soft, philosophical thing until you realize it’s the difference between spiraling in a triggered moment and being able to name what’s happening and talk yourself down. It’s also what finally quieted the guilt for me, because I could see why motherhood was hard in the specific ways it was hard for me, instead of assuming I was just bad at it.

That’s the tool I’m teaching in my upcoming free class on Tuesday, September 15th and Friday, September 18th, both at 10:30 am MST. Join me and learn how to feel calmer, less guilty, and more like the mom you always imagined you’d be, on the hard days and the ordinary days.

You’ve read the books. You’ve saved the reels. You You’ve read the books. You’ve saved the reels. You’ve listened to the podcasts (maybe even mine!), and you have a folder somewhere full of strategies you meant to try.

But something never quite seems to stick.

Something I’ve noticed over my years os interviewing parenting experts is that so much of the guidance is aimed at your kids’ behavior, and none of it is aimed at what’s happening in YOU when their behavior lands. That’s the part my upcoming masterclass is all about.

In one hour, I’ll share with you one tool: your governing values, the three to five principles that are already an innate part of who you are. And then I’ll show you how to actually use it, so you can stay steady when your kid pushes your buttons, soften the guilt that shows up afterward, and make decisions without the swirl.

That’s how you start showing up more like the mom you want to be every day.

I want to tell you what I admire most about my fri I want to tell you what I admire most about my friend Monica.

She almost quit. She told me that she has nearly walked away from her podcast around twenty times over the last decade.

But she didn’t quit. She kept showing up for women who needed her, and she did it while raising five kids and while figuring out how to be compassionate with herself in the process. Now there are more than 800 episodes and a book with her name on it.

She is truly an incredible human being.

Not only is she a certified coach who has helped thousands of women, but she also lives every bit of what she teaches.

Her book, Sticky Habits, comes out September 8th, and if you pre-order at stickyhabitsbook.com, you’re invited to her virtual launch party that day, which I get to co-host with her. I would love to see you there. 🎉

Comment ✨EPISODE✨ and I’ll send you a link to this week’s conversation, or tune in wherever you podcast.
