When I started podcasting, I knew I wanted to look professional and didn't want to spend a lot of money on clothes. Living in a small town in Idaho, there aren't a lot of stores (the closest mall and Target are 100 miles away!), and, honestly, I kind of hate shopping anyway. So when I heard about Stitch Fix, a subscription program that sends clothing directly to your door, I knew I wanted to give it a try.

You guys. I'm obsessed. It is not an exaggeration to say that 3/4 of my wardrobe now is from Stitch Fix. Do you recognize these shirts? All from Stitch Fix!

How It Works

First, I filled out a Style Profile at Stitchfix.com. I was able to specify my sizing, taste in clothes, even the price range I am comfortable paying. This took about 10-15 minutes and really wasn't too involved.

Then, every six weeks (or however often I specify in my profile) a personal stylist sends me a box of five items, chosen just for me. It's like Christmas morning when this arrives!

I try on all of the clothes in the box and decide what works and what doesn't. If something doesn't fit or isn't my style, I simply put it into the included return envelope (which is pre-addressed and pre-paid) and send it back. It's so easy!

The $20 styling fee is applied to whatever clothes I choose to keep. I've received 8 boxes now, and I've always kept something (and often keep almost all of it). If you keep everything in your box, you get 25% off your entire purchase.

As a final step, I go online and "Check Out." This involves filling out a form about what I am keeping and what I am sending back. I give detailed feedback, so my stylist can get to know my clothing preferences and  my next Fix is even better.

I've truly LOVED using Stitch Fix, and I am so honored to partner with them as an affiliate sponsor of 3 in 30!

Check out my Stitch Fix Wardrobe!

Here is a video of all of the Stitch Fix clothes I've purchased in the last year. More than 3/4 of my wardrobe is from Stitch Fix! I love it that much. (And even if you don't like my particular style of clothes, Stitch Fix caters to all styles and sizes!)

More reasons I love Stitch Fix

  • I have found that Stitch Fix has incredible customer service. When I've kept items that didn't end up washing well, I simply contacted Stitch Fix and they processed a return payment right away, even though I had already worn the item. I am SOLD when a company stands behind their products like that!

  • I love that I have tried different styles, colors, and brands of clothing than I otherwise would. If something arrives in my box, I try it on, even if at first glance I don't think I will like it. I'm pleasantly surprised how often I end up loving something totally new and different!

  • My stylist has really taken the time to research what will work best for me. I highly recommend being as detailed as possible in your Style Profile and your feedback after you receive a Fix because your stylist will listen! One time, I commented that I wanted a springy blazer for when I teach at workshops, and she sent me a box with five different blazer options. I found one that I love!

  • Included in every Fix is a style card, which shows you how different pieces can be worn within different outfits. It also always includes a personal note from the Stylist with ideas for how you can pair items together. (My stylist also includes personalized encouragements about my podcast and motherhood. It's amazing, really.)

As you can see, I truly am obsessed with Stitch Fix, and I am so honored to be sharing them with all of you! Give it a try and see what you think. (And tag me in photos so I can see what you got!)
